DAY TWO CLASSWORK: MAP OF IMPERIALIZED AFRICA (Use the primary source located to the left as well as the map in your textbook that shows Africa Imperialized, 1914...it is the same map you used to complete your chapter notes map...to complete the questions)2/16
DAY THREE CLASSWORK: TYPES OF IMPERIALISM -- Read about the four types of imperialism practiced by Europeans in the late 1800s. Use the metaphor of buying a car to help you better understand each of the types of imperialism. Once you understand the four types of Imperialism, read about Japan, China, India, and Egypt. As you read each case study, identify which type of imperialism is being utilized. Note that each country's reading is divided into sections because the type of imperialism practiced can change. Also, while historians and Europeans have defined the four types of imperialism, the actual practice of imperialism is not so black and white. Therefore, write the type of imperialism that BEST applies for each case.
